This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") outlines the rules and guidelines that all users (both Takers and Job Posters) must follow while using the Takers platform. By using Takers, you agree to comply with this Policy. Violating this Policy may result in account suspension or termination at our discretion.

1. Compliance with Nigerian Laws

Takers operates in compliance with applicable Nigerian laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and consumer protection regulations. Users are responsible for ensuring their activities on the platform comply with local laws.

2. Prohibited Activities

Users must not engage in the following activities:
2.1 Illegal or Fraudulent Activities

  • Using the platform for any unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
  • Providing false or misleading information during signup or transactions.
  • Offering or requesting services that violate Nigerian law.

2.2 Harmful or Abusive Conduct

  • Posting or sharing hateful, discriminatory, or violent content.
  • Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users.
  • Engaging in activities that disrupt platform operations.

2.3 Financial Misuse

  • Engaging in money laundering, fraudulent chargebacks, or financial scams.
  • Attempting to circumvent Takers’ payment system.

2.4 Misrepresentation of Services

  • Falsely advertising skills, experience, or services.
  • Delivering substandard, plagiarized, or incomplete work.

2.5 Platform Misuse

  • Attempting to exploit platform bugs or vulnerabilities.
  • Unauthorized data scraping, hacking, or impersonation of users.

2.6 Payment and Transaction Rules

  • Payments for services must be completed through Takers’ payment system.
  • Users may not negotiate or accept payments outside the platform.

2.7 Restricted Services

  • Takers prohibits tasks related to:Illegal goods and services (e.g., drugs, counterfeit items, unlicensed weapons).
  • Unlicensed betting, lottery, or gambling-related activities.
  • Ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, or other deceptive financial services.
  • Adult content or escort services.

3. Payments and Escrow-Like System
  • Payments are held securely within Takers' payment system until task completion.
  • Once the Job Poster approves a completed task, funds are released to the Taker's wallet.
  • Takers does not act as a financial institution and does not process external transactions.

4. Dispute Resolution and Refunds
  • If a dispute arises, both parties should first attempt resolution via in-app communication.
  • If unresolved, users may escalate the issue to Takers' support team for review.
  • Refunds are issued only if a dispute is ruled in favor of the Job Poster.
  • Takers does not guarantee transaction outcomes and acts only as a facilitator.

5. Reporting Violations

Users can report violations through:

  • The in-app reporting system
  • Customer support channels (refer to our Support page)
  • Flagging or reposting posts and listings

All reports are handled confidentially, and appropriate action will be taken where necessary.

6. Policy Updates

Takers reserves the right to update this Policy at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of the platform after an update signifies acceptance of the revised Policy.For further inquiries, please contact our support team through the Takers app or website.

  • Profile Photo
  • Identity verification is required and conducted by Dojah. Takers does not collect or store verification documents.

1.2 Transaction & Payment Information

  • Payment details (handled by Paystack; Takers does not process or store card details).
  • Transaction history
  • Withdrawal details for Takers receiving payments

1.3 Usage & Technical Information

  • Device type and operating system
  • IP address and geolocation (for security and fraud prevention)
  • App usage data (e.g., pages visited, interactions, preferences)
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Takers platform
  • Process transactions and payments securely
  • Verify user identities and prevent fraud
  • Facilitate communication between users
  • Provide customer support and resolve disputes
  • Enforce platform policies and security measures
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, but we may share limited data with trusted third-party service providers to facilitate platform operations. However, we may share it with:

  • Third-party verification services (e.g., Dojah) to validate Taker identities
  • Payment processors (e.g., Paystack) to facilitate payments
  • Legal and regulatory authorities if required by law or to protect user safety
  • Service providers who assist us in operating our platform (e.g., hosting, analytics, customer support tools)
  • Other users in limited cases (e.g., when you interact with another user via chat, some profile details may be visible)

4. Data Storage & Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no online system is 100% secure. Users are responsible for safeguarding their login credentials.

  • Personal data is stored securely in compliance with Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
  • Payment data is handled by Paystack and is not stored on our servers.
  • We retain your data only as long as necessary for platform operations and legal compliance, following applicable data retention policies.

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal information
  • Request a copy of your data
  • Opt-out of marketing communications
